Xpat Employer Registration in the Maldives — Agency & Set Transacting As

How resorts and companies link their Business Registry profile to xpat.egov.mv, choose agency transacting mode, and verify Coral Bay–style client employers.

Why agency transacting matters

xpat.egov.mv distinguishes the logged-in organisation from the employer you are filing for. Resorts usually contract a licensed recruitment agency; the agency profile must show Set Transacting As with the resort legal name (e.g. Coral Bay Resort), not Self.

If your ops team only sees Self, permits filed will attach to the wrong entity and immigration may reject the package.

Step-by-step: link a client employer

Log in with the agency credentials. Navigate Home → Set Transacting As (use the menu path, not bookmarked pending-fees URLs). Select the client employer from the linked list. Confirm the header bar displays the client legal name and employer ID.

Cross-check the name against business.egov.mv PV records and the ATID organisation registry snapshot.

  • Agency organisation active on Xpat
  • Client employer ID and code from prior linking or immigration letter
  • Business Registry legal name match
  • ATID client org shows xpatEmployerStatus linked

Business Registry before Xpat

Pull legal name, registry ID, directors, and registered address from https://business.egov.mv. ATID syncs this snapshot so job order PDFs and compliance forms auto-fill.

Resorts in South Ari, North Malé Atoll, and industrial zones all use the same pattern — registry first, then Xpat employer link.

Troubleshooting

Pending fees page instead of Set Transacting As: clear cookies, use agency login, navigate from the Xpat home menu. Employer not listed: complete employer linking request with immigration support letter. Self only: you are on an individual account, not agency.

Frequently asked questions

Can a resort use its own Xpat login?
Some large groups do; most use agency transacting. ATID configures per retainer agreement.
What is an employer code?
The Xpat employer identifier shown after linking — store it in ATID client settings for automation.
